'The War To End All Wars' at the Tank Museum

‘The War To End All Wars’ The Movie poster

Yesterday, the boys and I went to the Tank Museum in Dorset specifically to watch a screening of a movie by Sabaton called ‘The War To End All Wars’ with animation by Yarnhub.

The songs are from their album, ‘The War To End All Wars’, and, in the film, the stories are presented chronologically, each one preceded by narration explaining the event.

From the ‘Sabaton’ website – “This film tells the stories of World War I, granting viewers a better understanding of what the songs on the album are about. It is a musical and historical adventure covering a number of topics and telling the epic tales of various heroes.”

Having subscribed to the Sabaton History channel on YouTube, it’s clear to see the band’s passion for history and accurate research.

The band decided to release the film in museums as part of a charity project to garner more interest in museums worldwide, and they chose the month of November in honour of Armistice Day.

Screening times at the Tank Museum

The film is a little over an hour long, and we definitely enjoyed it.

Sabaton’s music enhanced each story, taking the film to another level, adding more emotion to an already emotionally charged experience.

I don’t know what the band’s plans are for the film once the screenings are over; I hope they release it for general viewing in whatever form they deem fit as I’m sure many more would appreciate the chance to see it.
