'Techniques' Altered Book

Cover of 'Techniques' altered book

Back when I was fully bitten by the ‘altered book’ bug and trying out different techniques, I decided to make an altered book of those techniques, which included using products I’d never tried before.

I made this in 2011… There are times, I’m caught off-guard that I’ve been making altered books this long!

Using a ‘Readers Digest’ hardback, I left the front and back covers blank, covered the spine with ribbon and attached a wide ribbon for the closure.

I didn’t remove any pages, but glued sections of pages together, and used pieces of fabric and ribbon to tie other sections together.

Here’s a selection of some of the layouts, and the video at the end shows the whole book, including a couple of demonstrations on how I make a mini envelope, and pockets made from a folded piece of paper.

Layout made from strips of fabric and vintage images.
