Another Thesaurus?!

For the last few weeks, I’ve been privy to an exciting secret, courtesy of Angela and Becca over at Writers Helping Writers. It’s to do with the next book in their brilliant descriptive thesaurus series.

It’s probably strange not to tell readers the book that’s about to be released, but Angela and Becca are masters of ‘show, don’t tell’! So, they decided to wait for the cover reveal.

And… Ta Da! Here it is - The EMOTION THESAURUS SECOND EDITION!

‘The Emotion Thesaurus’ 2nd edition

I’m so excited about this because ‘The Emotion Thesaurus’ is my go-to guide when writing. It is the one reference book I literally have to hand when I’m editing.

I can’t believe it’s been 7 years since the original Emotion Thesaurus was published. I know, like me, many writers have found this book immensely useful in taking their writing to the next level.

Like the original, the 2nd Edition is packed with helpful lists of body language, thoughts and the hard-to-describe visceral sensations, making it easier for writers to avoid cliched descriptions when conveying what their characters are feeling.

I’ve frequently hoped Angela and Becca would, somehow, add more emotions to the 75 in the original book. And – hallelujah! They have. The new edition has 55 more emotions, bringing the total to a whopping 130!

You can check out the full list of emotions, including some sample entries, HERE.

The book, which is released on 19th February, is available for pre-order! You can find it on Amazon, Kobo, Apple Books (iBooks) and Indiebound.

As if that wasn’t enough, the goodies just keep coming! You can also grab some free education. Angela and Becca are giving away a free webinar recording of one of their popular workshops on Emotion. If this is a problem area for your writing, head on over; it might be the help you’ve been looking for. Don’t delay though – it’s only available for a limited time.

I was lucky enough to get hold of an ARC, and I’m planning on posting my review of this next week.

Meanwhile, go check it out. You will not be disappointed!
