Top 10 Posts of 2022 + Happy New Year!

I first listed ‘Top 10 blog posts’ 2 years ago but didn’t do one last year.
Knowing me, I probably just forgot.
Only 2 posts from the 2020 list are in the top 10 posts for this year, one expected but not the other.
As before, I’ll list them in reverse order.
No. 10 – ‘10 Creatures from Greek and Norse Mythology’

As always with posts like this, my biggest struggle is deciding which 10 to include followed by the fun of finding suitable images.
No. 9 – ‘World War I: The Attack of the Dead Men’

This is 1 of 2 ‘History’ posts inspired by Sabaton songs; interestingly, they both feature in the ‘top 10’.
Discovering this for the first time, it seemed like something out of fiction, not an actual event.
No. 8 – ‘Hindu Deities: Ganesha and Murugan’

This is one of the 2 posts from the 2020 list, still in the same position as it was in 2020, and, although I wasn’t expecting to find it in the top 10, I’m delighted that it is.
No. 7 – ‘Lyudmila Pavlichenko, Russian Sniper Known as ‘Lady Death’’

I posted this on the 11th of January this year, and I’m rather pleased it’s made the list.
No. 6 – ‘Ancient Egypt: Language and Writing’

Finding this post from 2015 on the list was a bit of a surprise.
No. 5 – ‘Variations of ‘Sleeping Beauty’’

This post has gained favour over the past year or so.

This is the biggest surprise for me as it was posted on the 5th of July this year!
To begin with, it barely showed up in the weekly stats, then suddenly it just took off, and here it is in the top 5.
No. 3 – ‘American Indian Horse – Medicine Hat and War Paint’

Having been in the number 1 spot for absolutely ages, this post from December 2014 has finally slipped down.
It still surprises me just how popular this is as people continue to comment on it.
No. 2 – ‘Polish Winged Hussars and The Siege of Vienna 1683’
This is the other post inspired by a Sabaton song.
It hadn’t occurred to me until someone mentioned in the comments that the date of the battle was the 11th of September, another 9/11!
No. 1 – ‘10 Fairy Tale Tropes and Clichés’

I was not expecting to find this in the top spot especially as I’d only written it for fun!
Just goes to show, as a blogger you never know what people are going to find interesting.
