A Selection of my Favourite YouTubers

Most of my time on YouTube is spent listening to music and watching animal videos – of course! My music playlists range from classical to rock to dance to anime favourites. I’m partial to The Dodo for my ‘animal fix’, and other random videos of kittens, puppies, horses and animals being amazing.

I’m only subscribed to a handful of channels and not all of them to do with writing or books.

I thought I’d share the ones I check in on regularly.

First is author and booktuber, Francina Simone.

She writes YA and reviews mainly YA. Sometimes, she tackles what might be considered controversial book-related subjects, but always in a non-judgmental way. Her arguments are sound and nearly always make me stop and think. In case it bothers you, she does use the F-word. But she’s funny as anything and always makes me giggle.

I found her latest (to date) video particularly thought-provoking, filled with many gems.

Maybe this is a 2020 Resolutions video or maybe it's just something I needed to say. I have no idea but the lighting was nice and I looked cute so here I am chatting away about books as usual Okay I'm going to be Shameless now.

Next up, Charles Eisenstein.

He’s a writer and a teacher on civilization, consciousness, humanity, and our relationship with money.

I only became aware of him recently when one of his videos popped up on my YouTube home page and the title of the video intrigued me. Not that I can remember which video it was as I then went on to watch many more.

While I may not agree with every single thing he says, enough of it resonates with me. A refreshing view, not afraid to speak his mind, he also gives me much to think on, especially on topics like climate change, humanity as a whole and our relationship with our world.

As far as I’m concerned, this guy is the real deal. He even has his books available on his site to be read for free!

This is one of my favourite videos…

I speak about the organs and tissues of Gaia, and by that I mean forests, wetlands, all ecosystems, all biomes, as well as individual species. Last but definitely not least, Nathaniel Drew.

This young man, only 22, is wise beyond his years.

A true creator, he’s brave too, putting his vulnerabilities on display in the hopes it will help others. And he, too, isn’t afraid to speak his mind.

Thanks for taking the time to watch my work. It means a lot.

These aren’t all of my favourites, by any means, but they are the ones I felt compelled to share. If you haven’t come across them and your interest is piqued, I hope you’ll check them out.

Who are your favourites Youtubers? I hope you’ll share them in the comments as I love discovering new content.
