Towards the end of last year, I decided it was time to update the website ‘welcome’ page with a new look.
Also, not entirely happy with having a plain old ‘sign-up for blog updates’ option, I played around with a few ideas I could offer as a freebie.
It goes without saying, I love books. I also love notebooks. I have quite the collection of both. The boys sometimes ask if maybe I have too many notebooks. To which I answer, there is no such thing as too many notebooks!
Here’s what Jack London had to say about keeping a notebook, entitled ‘Keep A Notebook’ (1908):
“Travel with it.
Eat with it.
Sleep with it.
Slap into it every stray thought that flutters up into your brain.
Cheap paper is less perishable than grey matter and lead pencil markings endure longer than memory.”
I also love to make things. As Christmas presents this year, I made a couple of notebooks for my friends. To my delight, they really liked them. Which got me thinking…
I’m sure a lot of book-lovers have notebooks. So, why not put together a downloadable notebook? And that is what I’ve done.
It’s nothing fancy, simply lined paper on semi-transparent photos, which I got off ‘Pixabay’, and some of my own photos. I also added quotes relating to books and reading. I didn’t want it too big, so sized it as A5 and put it together as a PDF. Once you have it, you can print it off as many times as you like. Obviously, without the watermark!
For me, the joy is very much in the giving. Enjoy my gift from me to you.
